P.I.V. Drives GmbH, which is now a member of the Brevini Riduttori Group has than 75 years of extensive know-how in the field of drive engineering. The ingenious innovation incorporated in this transmission was the slatted all-steel chain. The original basis of all PIV mechanically infinitely variable speed chain transmissions was a patent for a slatted all-steel chain transmission granted in the 1920's. Since those early days, P.IV.'s engineers have continually perfected the original chain concept.

PIV Drives GmbH uses this knowledge and experience in the production of replacement chains. Every one of our chains is carefully assembled out of specially selected, hardened and heat treated steels. After assembly, each chain is visually inspected before it undergoes an initial trial run under load. Final inspection guarantees optimum P.I.V. Drives quality. Only after passing this rigorous test protocol will the the chain receive the "P.I.V. Drives" stamp of quality.
